I have a 93' Ford F-150 with the 302 V8. I want to replace the stock exhaust with some duals. I've heard that running two pipes into one flowmaster then back out into two pipes is the best sounding. If not, what is? Also, if I chose to get the catalytic converters cut off, would there be any side effects? I heard that lack of back pressure w/o the cats causes some problems. Thanks in advance.
Well, the y-pipe is before the preheater and is single all the way back on stock trucks. You can remove the convertor/preheater and run true duals all the way back. I know several people that have done that. My 1989 F-150 is setup that way and I have had no problems. If you are gonna run true duals, get two mufflers.
