Transfer case question

Transfer case question
I have a 1988 F250 aod trans and I'm not sure which transfer case, anyway my question is I can put the transfer case in 4H and 2H but it wont budge going into neutral or 4L.
Any Ideas?

Jim, Our 96 and ex 78 needed to be in Park/Neutral..then shifted to N/4 low; sometimes a slight forward motion was also needed before trying 4 low/or N shift again.

Ok, I will try that again, it just seems wierd about two weeks ago I could just use my finger to pull it back into 4L, now im yanking and not getting anywhere. Thanks for the link.
