Traction Bar

Traction Bar
Finally got around to getting a traction bar for the ol' PSD. Ordered from Ruff Stuff. Really heavy material, but I have to do some fitting. I'll get some pics on here in the next little while. After having lost too many rear u-joints to axle wrap, it's time.
Next on the list would be a Terminator T500 HPOP and a new/rebuilt zf5.
As the $$$ become available.

Not sure exactly on the HPOP. The old tired 15* one I have can't keep up with the 160cc sticks when pushing her hard even unloaded. And terminator engineering has the t500 for ~$500 US. Can't beat the price. It'll allow me to sustain the bigger injectors no matter how hard I push. As far as I've heard form the other OBS PSD guys on here. It may be a while before I take that plunge. The transmission will have to come first.

Here's a couple pics of the finished traction bar.
Most of the bars I looked at were made of light gauge steel and bumping into a rock would crumple them. This unit from Rough Stuff was 1/4" wall pipe and 3/8" plate for the main brackets.
I had to do all the fitting, but the material is robust. Overbuilt is perfect in this case.
Plus, it has the shackle in the front to prevent the incredible shearing forces that a completely solid front mount produce.

I guess I haven't been updating much in the last while. Nearly 3 years ago, we sold the house way out of town and moved to just outside Brandon. Got 2 acres, a small house and then built a shop last year. I can have the big ol' girl and the tractor inside and still have room to work on small projects.
