Model Numbers

Okay, stupid question time, but I was looking at the list of wiring schematics they have on Fordification and they are listed by model. I can see models 80, 81, 83, 85, 86 and 99. What do these model numbers refer to?

My truck is a 1969 long bed styleside,...which model (and therefore schematic) is this?

80 Platform.

81 Conventional Cab.

83 Flareside.

84 Cowl and Chassis.

85 Cowl and Windshield.

86 Stake Bed.

99 Styleside.

Thank you. That helps - so my truck is a model 99 as far as the schematics go.

Whilst I recognise what the platform, flareside, stake bed and styleside are, I must admit I'm not sure about how the conventional cab compares or what the 84 and 85 are all about.

84 and 85 are specialized chassis such as used in motor homes and Good Humor ice cream trucks.

81 Is cab and chassis. And as Steve posted 99 is styleside. So if you are looking something up for the cab then go by 81. If for the bed then go by 99 if you have a styleside.
