Anyone ever relocate the alternator to where the smog pump used to be on a 300 inline6? There any different brackets that can be used? I have a problem with the lower rad hose touching the adjusting bracket for the alternator (I have an aftermarket aluminum radiator). Maybe modifying that part of the alt bracket? Or some way to hold the lower rad hose out of the way? Idk guys. I can get pictures if they would help.
That is why you don't use aftermarket aluminum radiator not made for your car/truck.
Post up a picture of the hose and where it hits the bracket so we can see what you see.
Did you use a new lower hose? If so did you pull the spring from the old hose and install it in the new one?
Also some hoses are made to fit many different cars/trucks/motors and you need to "trim" them to fit right.
I don't know of any other brackets to move the ALT.
I had a truck that the upper hose was close to something, don't remember what it was now, but some one put a piece of old radiator hose around the outside of the hose where it hit something.

If you are handy you can build your own bracket. It's pretty easy if you have a vise, hacksaw, some pipe for a spacer, some flat metal and a piece of all-thread. The only thing else you may need to buy is a adjuster bracket from the Mr gasket rack at the store like this.
