I was wondering if anyone is having problems with the distance of the garage opener? I have a 3 door garage and only in the super duty that I have to be within 3 ft of the garage for the transmitter to work. All of my other cars would work from 15ft away! I have taken it to Ford to get it replaced but the new one is doing the same. I've also noticed the I would need to flip the visor away from the roof for it to work better.
By any chance are you using CFL or LED light bulbs in/near your garage door opener and/or garage? Some are known to cause interference. If you are using CFL or LED bulbs, try taking them out and try the opener again. There are garage door friendly LED bulbs available.
Also check the antenna wire coming out of your opener. 15 ft seems short even for working remotes. I can open my garage door from the street before I even enter the driveway. It's like 50 ft at least.
I've noticed I have to be much closer to my house with my '17 than I had to be with my '14 F150. Fairly certain the transmitter vendor changed between then and now. My wife's Kia minivan has about the same range as my old truck. My new truck requires me to be within about 50' of the opener, which isn't terrible, but having come from hardware that was able to open it from down the street, it's been a bit of an adjustment.
Using LEDs in my opener, so that's not what's going on in my case
My '17 F-350 has better range than my '07 Nissan Titan. I have a buttload of LED fixtures in my garage, but none of them would be on prior to the garage door opening. I haven't had any issues closing either, but I'm not usually very far away for that.
15 feet is a bit of an understatement but yes every one of my vehicles can access the garage from super far range. I also have a detached garage with a totally different brand opener but the results are the same. Usually 5 ft or less for it to work 😡😡😡.
I have two doors. One opens when's asked to. The other often times will not open from two different remotes at or near the door but will always open from 100-300 feet away. When it acts up I have to go to the door panel to open it. The door panel is also wireless remote just screwed to the wall. Neither opener has a 15 foot antenna and at the most it's only 24 inches.
I have the same issue. My one garage door you have to be close to and almost pointed directly at it, my other door has a newer garage door opener and it works a lot better.
Same issue here, I need to be pretty close for it to work. Probably about 15' or so. My manual opener that's in my old 7.3 works from about 50 yards away if I take it off the visor and point it towards it.
I am only using opener #1 on my one big door. It works from down the street, turning the corner. Always has. I had some trouble programming, I would try reprogramming. It's like programming a universal remote for your TV, there is the first code that works, then there is the ideal one perhaps. I would think it's worth a try to reprogram.
I have a multi code receiver on the door opener and had to get within 10 ft of the door to open it. I tried several things to make it work even extended antenna wire to outside of door, no difference. Yesterday I put a new receiver on the opener and it fixed it. now it will open 100 ft away. I was sure it was the truck, it was not.

In my case, both my wife's vehicle and my F150 opened it fine with the vehicle-based opener from quite a distance. The new SD - not so much. All 3 of my openers are Liftmaster MyQ enabled, installed in 2014.
