i have a stock 1990 f150 4X4 larait with the big six. id like to level the truck and put 31/10.50s on it. how is this going to affect the performance. only mods ive done to the truc is a K&N filter. by the way, the truck has 106,000 miles on it, doesnt use any oil, and runs great.
I have a 92 Ranger 4.0 V6, I put a 3'' body lift on and took off the 28'' tires to put 31 x 10.5 on. Didn't affect my lowend much, but instead of being able to go 120 on the highway is was cut down to 90... And I belive it has been putting more wear on my clutch, not sure how it would affect an automatic.
Your truck came stock with a 28.9" tire, we're only talking 2", it's not going to affect the gearing very much, the big six can handle it no problem. I put 32s on mine with little effect.
If you can, sure. That's what I did when I didn't have FTE. Buddy of mine has 32's on his bronco and I took two off and put them on the rear of my other truck to see what the gearing would be like.
