Aftermarket Intercooler?

Ford 1993 IDI Turbo Diesels do not have intercoolers, correct? What is the torque/horsepower gain? How much do they cost? Would I have to replace my radiator?

Aftermarket Intercooler?

banks said 1400 for there intercooler. bigest problem your fuel filter is in the way of the air tubes.other wise it should bolt up I don't think there is too much power gain either. You don't have that much boost with the IDIs. I don't know about power but banks said it can all be done If you move the fuel filter or bend the intercooler air pipes

Hypermax also offers one for the engine... not sure if filter location is a problem... but for these older trucks it is a good idea. Due to the routing of the exhasut pipes from the turbo it creats alot of under hood heat. Hypermax recommends on is installed and it should bolt up to the banks unit. Hypermax intercooler runs about $1700 i think but it might be worth the extra money if ya dont have to bend the pipes or relocate your filters. As for HP increases i dunno the stats off hand but when you cool air it gets denser... thus allowing more boost because the volume of air that the turbo is displacing increases... hince more air more power.
