I've got a 1964 f250 camper special with the 292. Wanting to make this a daily driver with a touch of hot rod. I've got the pickup running. My next issue in line are the breaks. Do I stick wth drums for now or bite the bullet and convert the front to disk? If so where can I find the parts and kit to do so?!?! Where can I find a chiltons on this bad boy?? Eventually I'd like to build it to a boss 292. What are all the mosifications as far as that goes? Also just any general info on it. Thank you!

There is a forum for rv's, irv2 They have all kinds of campers on it.
well the vin says it's a camper special, either way it IS a custom cab. Regardless, I'm looking for help with mechanics....
anyone got anything for brake work for the drums and also motor work for the 292?!?!
gotcha... so he's being a **********. Glad to know this is a place to get good info, not just get ****ed with. I've hear the boss 292 as an unofficial term for the early mustangs. Guess I'm a fool. Thanks for not being a **** about it. What are we talking as far as performance parts? Cam, aluminum heads, straight dual manifolds, aluminum intake and performance carb? Oh maybe rocker arms too?
hey thanks for being a **********! Just looking for good info, not really looking to be made fun of... kinda counter productive. I've heard the unofficial term for the 292 mustangs.

i think folks are razzing you because your info is "pretty far out there". The 292 is the Ford Y-block used in the 50's and early 60's but was never used in Mustangs. The y-block was essentially phased out and replaced by the Windsor family of engines (221,255,260,289,302,&351) although the 351 was the only one that officially ever got the "Windsor" as part of the name designation. Factory Mustangs received only Windsor family engines until '67 when the FE family became optional. No y-blocks ever factory in a mustang. You got bad info from somewhere or they're yanking your chain.

Eric made a joke, and it wasn't even at your expense. The appropriate response would be to laugh.
Since you're too young to remember what a Boss 302 was (and it was the official name) let me give you some fatherly advice: don't get your panties in a wad over something silly. If you start calling people names you're probably going to alienate the very people who could help you.
When I was growing up, young men razzed each other all the time. If you took offense and started crying you would get razzed even more. It wasn't really mean spirited, just part of growing up. Now on the internet, even grown men behave like children and pout when someone "offends" them. It's time to grow a pair and be a man.
If you want to call me names too go ahead, I can take it. I'm trying to help you not make fun of you.

No VIN of any year Ford truck decodes to a Camper Special. There's no code stamped on the Warranty Plate that decodes to a Camper Special as it was an optional package.
Mustang shown to the general public for the first time on April 17, 1964 at the New York World's Fair, went on sale nationwide on April 23, 1964.
Hardtop and Convertible only initially, no hood nose moulding, came with a generator, original engines thru 8/23/64: 170 & 200 I-6, 260 2V, 289 2V, 289 4V, 289 4V HiPo.
After 8/23/1964, the 170 & 260 were dropped, alternator and Fastback introduced, as was the hood nose moulding.
