Gas cap for '73

Hi all,

I have a '73 F100 with a 302. I just replaced the rotted rubber filler line and the adjacent vent line, but I'm trying to figure out whether the correct gas cap is EVAP or non-EVAP. My assumption is non-EVAP since this was/is a KY/TN truck and doesn't have a charcoal canister and only has the one vent line that runs next to the filler line and connects beside it at the neck, no secondary vent. The gas tank wasn't replaced by the PO, so I'm just trying to make sure vented is the way to go. Thanks all!

Vented is what you need but remember that gas caps nowadays are not truly vented. Most will drill a small hole in the cap for two way ventilation. New gas caps will solve high vacuum concerns but not over pressure issues

Thanks! That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure. I'd read other threads where guys had done the hole trick for two way, so I'll definitely go that route if I see gas start to leak. I don't ever fill it up all the way as a precaution, but you can't be too careful. Also, I made a typo above, the PO did change the gas tank so it's new.
