Darn... forgot about the new Diesel.

Either the 5.0 or Diesel for me... probably still the 5.0 though.

3.5 or 5.0 for me!! I have had 2, 3.5's and not a single problem with them or the trucks!

Which engine would I chose?

Current ride2011 F150 5.0L 4x4 3.55 limited slip Crew cab shirt bed. Love the truck, but if I were to do an upgrade I'd consider a few changes. F150 3.5L twin turbo 4x4 3.55 limited or 3.73 Crew Cab longbed and the 10 speed transmission.
We tow a 30 foot travel trailer. Current rig does a fine job. I'm just thinking about my what ifs. Have also tossed the diesel around but I just gotta see the kinks worked out.
Of course all bets are off if we buy a fifth wheel. I'd step into F250 or F350.

I'm a diesel guy, so the choice for me is easy. The question is what engine would you chose, not what trim or body would you choose. I would choose the powerstroke.

I'll stick with the 5.0. I'm getting a constant 19 mpg with it all year long with my 2015 and i don't have all the extra turbo plumbing to deal with. As long as they don't add cylinder deactivation (unless I can permanently turn it off), I'll stick with the V-8. I had a 2011 3.5 eco and it was great until 50,000 miles and then the problems started that the 3.5 is know for - carbon tracked plugs, bad coil pack, bad air pump.

I would go with the new EB screw 4X4 with 3.73, I just love beating anyone that challenges me, very rarely get beat , never by any diesel powered anything, is seems like the more noise from the diesel's the slower they are.

Nothing that can't be changed at the dealer before pickup. Roush SC kit is 600HP with a warranty, or 650 HP without. Your choice.

The 2.7 for me. A good friend has one in his '16 and loves the mpg and power. He's got me hooked.
Also something about 325/375 from 164 cid....stock!
And with the 10 speed it'll be even better.

When the 2.7 gets the 10 speed next year, it`s going to very interesting to see if it`ll crack the 30 MPG mark.

I think it will.
