New to this forum. I figured this would be a good place to start. Picked up this junkyard jewel a few months ago. She is a 1978 f150 4x4. She will be getting a new life as a street rod. I have a 408w that is going to wind up under the hood once its built. Lots of things to learn. This is gonna be fun. Thanks to all on this forum for making the needed information available!

Stepside thread still active?

Anyone out there still monitor this thread or have any interest in the stepsides? Y'all have some beautiful trucks. I'm starting a rebuild of a 79 shortbed stepside 4x4 that I've owned since 1985 but it's been torn apart for 20+ years. Wondering how much effort it's worth to post here. Or anyone know of a more active forum on the topic where I can get input/advice/parts on this? Thanks, Kurt

I still look in.
My 76 went away a while back and my current Flareside is a Bullnose (80-86) era unit, but l still love the 73-79 trucks and just get a kick out of looking at the pics sometimes.

Post-away, it don't cost nuthin'.

New to the forum! 1977 F-100 Flareside. Was originally restored by my Grandfather in the early 2000's and recently got passed down to me to fix back up after sitting for 15+ years. I've since gotten it running again (overheating issue fixed, new carb), had the bed wood completely redone, and put new wheels and tires on it

Beautiful Truck!! What size wheels and tires are you running? PO put the way wrong set of both on my '74 and experiencing rubbing issue on left front spring mount. I like the look on your truck, and mine are close to replacing.

Thank you! Fronts are 225/70R15 Rears 255/70R15. Wheels are 15x7. I will say the fit on the front is pretty tight to the caliper but I haven't had an issues

The first picture is one I really like of my truck, that’s for the most part completed. Of course after a rebuild like this there is always a loose bolt or something that I’m now dealing with. Figured I’d share!

I like that steering wheel on there. This also reminds me, I should probably post the (nearly) finished interior on mine

Completed 79 F250 Project

Finally completed my project on the 79. Flareside.
Did after long search find the 17" bullet wheels I was looking for. Mounted the new 325/70R17 TOYO's.
