ok so I have an oil leak and I found where it coming from but don't have a clue of what the part is/called I can get a picture in the morning if needed. But if you are looking down at the engine and go go from front to back you have the oil filter, engine temp sensor, oil switch and then there is a circle thing with inverted torx head screws holding it down. Like I said I'm sorry I have no clue what it is or called. Would it be as easy as an o-ring replacement? And if pictures are needed I can get some in the morning. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.!!!!!
That area is the coolant cap on the oil cooler cover. Where exactly on it is it leaking and are you sure it is oil? That wire looks like it's coming from around the IPR, but the pic is not too clear. Where does the wire go to? I have not seen a wire connection like that near the FICM.
It is coming from the very bottom of it it may not be oil could have just looked like it cause it is pretty dirty in there I did replace my oil pressure switch it was covered in oil and the oil pressure gauge would drop to zero at a stop light
What year is the truck? There should be two gaskets there. There is a cover and a small housing under the cover that is sandwiched between the oil cooler cover and the small cover you can see.
The gaskets you are looking for are labeled the 9N693 and circled 2 and 3. You should be able to get the gaskets separately at the dealer versus having to buy a gasket kit for the whole cooler.
They might be able to help you with the other one too.
Easy to do and hopefully just coolant coming out of there because there should not be any oil at that point. Simple Green the heck out of the area before you do the job.
