My custom plates have a real sentimental value to me
My father purchased a brand-new 1978 Mercury cougar back in the day never really drove it he purchased personalized license plates for it back in 1979 when he passed away two years ago the car was willed to me with only 6400kms The car was like new last summer I took it out of storage from the winter and on the first drive this is what happened to it

Yeah it was a pretty tough day lots of emotions thinking of my dad
Every new truck I purchased he would be the first one to get in and want to go for a ride always commented how advanced every new one was would've been nice for him to get into this 17 platinum
Interesting plate thread. I lost my dad in October 2015. He had a GMC Sierra 4x4 that I inherited. When I went to DMV to change the title and get a new plate I opted to just get a random plate. When they handed me the plate I looked at them and asked what they did? In confusion she didn't know what I was talking about. The 4 digit number on the plate was my street address. The last two characters were TL. I live in Tallahassee. Dad was watching that transaction. My new Super Duty now has that plate.
Sorry to see the loss of the car, bronc71. At least you have the plates. Car appeared to be immaculate.
Thnx it really was all original never been touched still had the original oil filter on it which I changed as soon as I got the car my dad did not want it to be replaced but I just couldn't leave it on there
