After pushing the brake pedal and releasing it, the pedal will not return to it's original position.
This truck has had a complete brake system over haul from new master cylinder, to lines, proportioning valve, etc.
While working t get the brake lights to work, I found the brake pedal doesn't return to it's original position. Of course I can lift it back place and it'll stay until pressed again to the same result.
Old trucks are frustrating, but this one has been more than all the others combined.
Have you checked that you have vacuum in the booster. Run the truck for a moment and then turn it off. Now pull the vacuum line from the front of the booster. If you hear vacuum, it should be good. No vacuum then you need a booster. Seals let go and leak. Do you hear any vacuum leaking when you press the brake pedal?
On a car I am restoring I had the brake peddle pivot rust up so it would not move as it should.
I found this when I had the peddle assy. out of the car to fix the clutch linkage side of it.
