Sorry to here you are having tendon Issues, I know firsthand they are difficult. I never had a thing wrong with me, and was prescribed the Antibiotic Levaquinn(same as Cipro) for a sinus infection. It caused a bad reaction and I had several tendon tears and have been fighting them for years. Make sure if you have tendon problems NEVER take Cipro or Levaquinn they are known to destroy tendons!!
I too hate the Bump steer and sloppy steering in my 17 250.
I was 35 strong as an ox never had so much as a sick day from the flu kinda guy. Took 3 pills of levaquin and went into an bad reaction, tore 5 major tendons within 45 hours...Tore my achiles walking down the stairs, tore my rotaror cuff in 3 places lifting 10 pounds, I couldn't walk for 2 months.. Took me a full year to get back to normall and still fighting issues years lattter.. That stuff is poison!!
Probably too late, but I was reading a Diesel magazine yesterday and saw an advertisement from a company that makes upgraded power steering pumps for diesel trucks. They are designed to turn 37" and larger tires with ease, even at low speeds. They offer two options: a simple "overdrive" pulley that replaces the stock pulley on your factory pump...it spins faster at all speeds. They specifically state it reduces steering effort by 20%.
Then they offer their upgrade replacement pump...which they state reduces effort by 75%.
If you wanted more info, I'd be happy to look it up and send it over.

I have towed with many F150's in the past and their lighter suspension and weight are disadvantages. I beef them up with Bilstein shocks, and air bags and they do a decent job. The new lighter aluminum bodied one's not as good as the steel one.
I have 6 seasons of towing a Laredo 302lt with my 2009 F150 - rated to pull 9700#. The 32' long, 11' high trailer weighed only 7700 fully loaded. I upgraded to Bilstein 5100's (way rougher than OEM) and Firestone air bags.
It was too much trailer for the truck. I drive very carefully, and even have had the truck'so anti-sway hit the brakes on a mountain curve (going less than 30 MPH). Upgrading to the ProPride 3P hitch helped tremendously, but most of that stability was lost when I "upgraded" the OEM Perelli tires to Michelin ltx m+s (better for everything but towing). The F150 just doesn't pull near its limits very well.
