I'll be ordering a '17 F350 CCSB Lariat Ultimate here shortly and test drove one recently. With all the functionally of the dash screen being utilized for the 360 cameras and such I'm wondering why we are left with what seems like a tiny screen. Not a show stopper by any means but figured Ford would put something in a little bigger to complement all the new tech features. Anybody else notice/ feel the same way? Probably will show up in the 2019 model...
The home screen splits up Nav, phone and radio/sat. If you touch the Nav button, or the Nav on home screen it goes to full size 8.2" screen, it can display the built in Nav or from your phone.

I don't feel that way. 8" is large enough for what it's for. I don't think, I would want anything much larger in the dash.
I am excited to possibly be able to use my Waze, or Co-Pilot (GPS map apps) via my android thru the sync system. That 8.2" screen is bigger than my Galaxy S7

How do you get Waze to show on the screen? Carplay doesnt use it on mine. I'm not sure how to add an app on CarPlay which has limited configurability in my experience. I use the iPhone 7.

I haven't tried yet, mainly cuz somebody <^above^> mentioned Waze is currently working on it's compatibility. Android here.
Waze will more than likely not work with CarPlay. Google owns Waze so why make that cool feature work on the iPhone which they are competing with. There have been rumors since day one of CarPlay's release, but nothing has come of it. As of 7 days ago, it still doesn't even work with their own OS android.
Looking at this article: https://www.wired.com/2017/02/waze-cars/ (article from 7 days ago) I am not sure that even if it did work, I would use it based on the data collection they are planning. The last thing that Google needs is more information about me.

how do you get google maps from an IPhone 7 to appear on the navigation screen and also audible the turns? tks
It seems they've left room for expansion on either side of the screen so it wouldn't be unheard of for to start using a bigger screen in future model years. If I remember correctly, the 2011 Superduty's had a standard headunit and then ford started using the Mytouch system in 2013 or 2014.
