i just recived my new ART rotors for my truck and which one is left, and which one is right....there is no R or L stamped on them....which one is which??
Originally posted by HeavyAssault Never knew rotors were one-sided. It shouldn't matter which goes where...
Heavy - these are slotted rotors with an angle slot, so in this case it does make a difference.
The driver's side rotors have their slots going this "/" way when viewed on the truck, and the passenger side go this "\" way.
HTH.
Edit: oh yeah, the front/rear are different too! If I recall correctly, the heavier (thicker) rotors went up front. I just matched 'em up to what I took off the truck, since they are not labeled in any way from ART x/c for markings on the outside of the boxes.
THE BOX THEY CAME IN SHOULD HAVE A LEFT OR RIGHT PRINTED ON THE LABEL.THE ROTORS DO NOT.
I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL,I TOOK THEM OUT OF THE DA$M BOX & I HAD TO REMEMBER WHICH ONE CAME OUT OF THE BOX MARKED LEFT & WHICH ONE CAME OUT OF THE BOX MARKED RIGHT.
THIS IS THE ONLY DRAW BACK TO THE ART ROTORS.YOU WOULD THINK STHAT OMEONE COULD SMACK THEM WITH A HAMMER & PUNCH (L OR R).
Thanks for the replies...just one question for jaxf250. You say that on the passenger side the slot should be "\" when viewed from the side of the truck, but in the pictures in the link, you can see the tail pipe (indicating pass side) and the slots are facing "/".
From about the noon or 1 o'clock position (if you were looking at a clock) on the passenger side, when viewing straight on, they should be going like "\" this.
