Was looking to replace the coil on my 1999 ford f150 4.2l v6. I found a $56 stock replacement, and noticed many other performance coils for $60 to $100. Do the performance coils make a noticeable difference? Should i just stick with the stock replacement for this vehicle?
If your not having a proven issue now, don't replace it.
No, a different coil will not result in any more performance on a stock motor.
An increase in voltage does not make more power out of the same gas and air.
The explanation why get a bit complicated.
Good luck.
