4 low not engaging

4 low not engaging
i have an 89 ranger xlt with electric shift 4wd and it will not go into 4 low. i cleaned the motor and 4 high works better than ever, but it doesnt even try to go into 4 low. i would appriciate any help i could get. thanks

yeah, i was pressing the clutch (its a manual). come to find out, it was a wiring problem. i dumped it in a water hole a while back and i took out almost all of the interior to let it dry. when i took the shift control modual out 3 wires came out of the harness, i thought i had them back in the same position, but i bought a haynes manual today that had a wiring diagram with the pinouts for the module and i found out that i had them crossed. i appriciate you guys help in my problem.
