I've read through almost every forum post so if I have missed something please let me know or link me to it.
I'm doing a custom build 1977 f100 custom. Going to put power brakes on it. I have the booster and master cylinder from a 1998 f150 proportion valve and all. I know I need a bracket but which one. What's the difference between these two they say their both for the same range years.

I'm fairly certain a booster from a '98 Ford truck would mount directly to the firewall in those trucks and will not work on the brackets for a Dentside truck and would not be a direct bolt up if installed directly on the firewall in a Dentside.
Bracket assembly in the 1st ebay ad is for a single or dual diaphragm bellcrank style booster with a short input rod.
2nd ad is for a long input rod single or dual diaphragm booster. It's missing a key component --the hard plastic dust boot that goes between the back of the booster and the hole in the firewall where the booster input rod goes through.
My truck is a '69 F100 SWB Ranger but, I have '77 F100 front discs/suspension, a dual diaphragm booster/brackets/dust boot from a '75 F350, a disc/drum brake valve from an '84-'86 F150/Bronco and a 1-1/16" bore MC for a '95 Ford Explorer on my truck.
I tried mounting it straight to the firewall and it doesn't clear, so my next bet is to get a bracket for mine or go your route you've given me enough information to start moving again. Thank you
Hey ultraranger if I can't find the second bracket with the hard plastic piece, wouldn't it be doable to make one up because that's the only one I see online for sale junkyards all empty as well for any year close to what I need
