I pulled the entire fuel line (when I grabbed the motor & tranny) from a '95 F150 (5.8).
I'm putting it all in a '52 F3.
A few questions:
1) what is this cannister for (see photo)?
2) since the '52 will only have one tank (the midship one from the '95), can I somehow 'plug' the two additional lines coming off the juncture along the framerail that went to the second tank?
3) I bent part of the fuel rail on the manifold while lifting the motor out with a chain. Are the fuel rails the same for the 5.0 and 5.8?
1) Fuel filter.
2)Yes, I fabricated a couple plugs for the fuel lines with engine studs one time, they insert into the lines where they attach to the tank and are retained with the factory clips.
3) The actual rails are the same but the flex hoses between sides is longer on the 5.8

thanks for this...
1) i thought (assumed) the filter was in the tank. guess i should replace this one to be safe.
2) hmmm, interesting... no leak under pressure?
3) great info, thanks... i tore one of the hoses, too, so good to know the difference!
The rails are not identically the same, but the connectors on the braided steel fuel lines that come up from the frame & connect to the hi pressure "in" of the injector rail & the return line to the tank "should be" the same. They are two different sizes (the in & out)so you can't get them wrong.
