The VIN is IN!

1 week after order entry, and my dealer contacted me with the VIN already! I guess it's real now...

1FT8W3BT2HEC97961

Looking at the sheet, it says "Locked-in". What does that mean? Other orders on the sheet say "BUCKED" or "TTGX979631"

What do those mean?

Last time I this happy, was after my DW told me about a plus sign on a little white stick. I had to wait 9 more months before the boy child was born. Let's hope I don't have to wait as long for this one!

"Locked In" means no more changes to the order will be accepted.
"Bucked" means the frame has been selected at the factory and it is about ready to roll down the line.
"TTGX979631" is the rail car that it is transported on.

Got it. Thanks!

Weird thing is, when I put the VIN into the VIN decoder, it lists as a long bed platinum instead of a short bed lariat ultimate... what gives?

The only real document you can count on is the window sticker. The VIN decoders are very generic and not vehicle specific. ETIS is useful after the truck is built but even there you have to be aware of some confusing information. Things will show up that make no sense like "Front Fender Delete" but you can rest assured that your truck will have front fenders. Just hang on until you get your window sticker for accurate information.

Yeah. Just have to be patient I guess, but just like Tom Petty said... "Waiting is the hardest part"
