Did you guys hook them up to the upfitter switches?
Any pics of the wiring?
I did, but no pics. It's extremely easy. The Rigid Radiant bar has just three wires: 1 hot for the ambient light, 1 hot for the main LED, and a ground. I went to a hardware store and bought a replacement cord for power tools that has 3 blunt wires on one end and a plug on the other. I used butt connectors to connect 1 wire to switch 1, 2nd wire to switch 2, and a ring connector on the 3rd wire for ground. The wire stubs for the upfitter switches are labeled, but you can also find the color map in the manual. There's a grounding point on the inside of the hood very near the upfitter stubs (these are under the hood nearest the windshield on the driver's side). I cut the plug off the other end and ran it to the front and down to the light bar. Then I just used butt connectors to wire sw1 to the ambient, sw2 to main led and the last to ground (sw3 is for my backup lights and I'll use at least one more for on board air, eventually). I also used heat shrink tubing to cover all the connections.
It's very clean and easy to do, even if you're not electrically inclined. Just make sure you wire the ground to the correct wire on both ends. It took me about 30 minutes and I took my time. Also, make sure you test your light bar before crimping it to the main wire! I didn't do this (I figured it's a rigid, it will be fine) and found out the bar was bad after I'd finished everything
Since I'd left enough slack, I only had to cut the connectors off the light bar side and re-do that part when the replacement light showed up. No other relays or fuses were necessary.
Here are a couple of home fab pics of one I have started but not finished waiting on better weather and hoping for a set of 4 KC Hilites HID lights to replace the LED light bar.
I just installed a Ranch Hand winch bumper on my truck. The N fab mount is for sale, as is the entire front bumper (minus fog lights and wiring harness).
