I just bought a 2003 4x4 SD with the snowplow package. I noticed that behind the lower spoiler on the front of the truck there is a heavy steel brace. Is this for the Plow package or does all the newer SD's have this bracket? I was going to remove the lower spoiler for a higher look but then noticed the bracket behind it. My brother-in-law has a 99 SD and his doesn't have the lower spoiler or the bracket. It looks like the bracket could be easily remove but I dont want to remove it if its important. I will never be plowing with the truck anyway...
Its there as a safety requirement by transportation safety board to keep your truck from going over a small foreign car .supposedly helps activate your airbags also!
If and when you put a plow on ,it will be removed by the plow installer
Someguys remove them ,but if you were involved in a crash and some smart a$$ investigator found it removed ,you take it from there!!!!
