Went out this morning to go to church and the steering wheel would not turn. Backed back into the driveway. We jumped out to get in the other car and look what awaited us.
Came back from church got under her for a bit and couldn't determine (didn't try too hard) if it was a hose or a connection or something else, then called Ford Roadside Assistance. They don't want to come and get it today, since it is in a safe place (my driveway). They were concerned that the closest Ford dealer couldn't work on it and they may have to send it to a further one. Seemed odd to me because it is a Ford and any Ford dealer should be able to fix it.
I look at this as an opportunity from God to help you learn to pay attention at church when the rest of the world is falling apart. The truck will be fixed, and you'll laugh about this one day.
Bummer, hopefully a hose connection some gomer pile forgot to tighten. Still, if I'm going to have a fluid leak better it be in the steering vs engine or trans. Let us know how you make out with the repair.
Off we went this morning. Good news the dealer was extremely helpful, even though I did not buy it there. A hose came off, they reattached it (correctly) filled it with fluid, bled the system and I was gone in about an hour.
On a side note, I am having trouble with the sliding door in front of the cup holders, service guy needs to get with the regional rep, but he think they will need to replace the entire console. Sounds a bit extreme.
the dealer wants to replace the whole console for a sticky door? My guess is the dealership gets compensated more for replacing a center console than fixing a small portion of it. This is why some of us are paying 70-80k for a damn truck just so Ford and continue to pay inflated repairs from their stealerships

Or the mechanics are integrated in the console, which means you have to replace the whole thing.... But who knows.

Thank goodness it was something simple!! I'm wondering why so many of these trucks have loose hose connections. It's kind of unnerving....

Mine has not worked since I took delivery. Plenty of others have experienced this issue as well. I've heard the entire console needs to be removed to fix the problem, but not necessarily replaced. I'll be taking my truck in for the first oil change probably in a week or so; will have them advise at that time.
I didn't realize, SO many have loose hose connections. Other than a few transmission hose problems, I've haven't heard much about other issues.
I've heard of oil leaks, tranny fluid leaks, and now power steering leaks. I get that it's a new model. But goodness! It's probably only 4 or 5 that I've heard of, but I feel like it's more than it should be. Regardless, my order is still being built. I just don't look forward to testing out the waranty
