Filter media expert needed
I'm wondering if it would be acceptable to use a filter designated as a hydraulic filter to filter automatic transmission fluid without having problems. The specific application would be type F fluid. Thanks for any comments.

Automatic transmission are hydraulic.. hydromechanical technically.
The filter medium is specific. It requires enough pass through to sustain volume and pressure. Medium too loose or too dense can affect operation.

Buy a filter and kit designed for automatic transmission. Also be sure to add an auxiliary cooler if you don't have one already. Heat is the enemy of any automatic.
