Need Help

Hey everyone,
I am about to get my first Ford, its a 1978 Ford F-250 Custom and am wondering what some of the first upgrade parts I should be looking at!

I am new to Fords, so take it easy on me… I'm coming from a second gen Dodge

Initially, spend your money to address safety and reliability.

.... upgrades come later when ya know what it really needs or doesn't need or want.

HIO Silver; safety and reliability are of course the utmost concern. Thank you for posting.
redcreekauto; I can't post photos considering my membership level. But what I can tell you is that it has been sitting on the ranch I work at for quite some time, as the owner has a multitude of Chevy's he uses.

The ranch owner and I are installing a voltage regulator as well as throwing in a brand new battery, oil cap and cleaning the whole thing out tomorrow so I will gather more information tomorrow and post.

I sincerely appreciate the posts back! much better than my old dodge forums… must be a Ford thing

Ford trucks haven't been #1 for 40 years for no reason ! Your going to have a ton of fun restoring it and getting it back on the road.

The plan is to get it on the road as quickly as possible and then do a really good restoration, as I'm only 19, I don't have the knowledge or experience to do a full frame-off restoration nor the funds to pay for that kind of work. The truck DID run and drive prior to being parked so we will see what happens….

The wealth of knowledge on this board will get you the answers you need. Its fun to restore these trucks. I restore all types/brands of vehicles for a living. The funds part is always the hardest. I flipped burgers, washed dishes and pretty much did anything and everything at your age. The hard part was who to spend money on first, My ride or my girlfriend(s). Both will whine equally when you ignore them LOL

lol that's definitely true, between my girlfriend, our daughter and my truck, money is always tied up! I have pretty big plans with this truck though! You do this stuff for a living?! That's badass!!
