Will be relocating spare tire to the rear bumper. (315's don't fit inside) Was wondering if anyone has done anything with the cutout that is left inside. Was thinking there must be a way to use as really cool storage. Looking for ideas.
A cool idea would be to fabricate a box the same shape as the stock spare and use the stock spare tire cover to have a semi-secret storage area. I can't image a thief would put two and two together, if they were that smart they wouldn't be a thief.
Live in Alaska. Sometimes nearest tow truck could be 100 to 200 miles away depending were I am at. Having a spare is a must. I do have an on board air compressor, so a another good idea. Thanks
If you put it on the bumper how easy will access be to the hatch or barn doors? I would make it fit inside even if I had to let the air out of it and carry an air source. (Hoping you would never have to use it)
I need to find another use for mine....a few weeks ago there was a stranded F250 with a blow out. The guy didnt have anything at all, no tools or spare. I had a place I had to be so I got his info amd left him my spare, jack, and tire iron. We were going to meet up once he got the truck fixed. I cant get him to return my calls or text now.

That sucks. I have an extra steel rim just sitting in my garage I would give you if you're nearby, but I see you're on the East coast. I replaced my spare with a stock aluminum alloy rim like all my other wheels. Much lighter than the steel rim.
