1979-1980 Medium & Heavy Duty Truck parts...

Okay so I discovered something strange, and I have no idea why things are this way...

If I go in to Autozone or O'Reilly, their computer does not have a 1979 C600 in their system. In fact, when they pick 1979, nothing bigger than an F350 comes up. However, if they pick just a year later (1980), they have every Ford truck you can imagine. I mean they go all the way to a F8000. Why are these computers set up like this? Also, if I just have them look up stuff for a 1980 instead of the 1979 I have, will I match more times than not for what I need?

So far I have lucked out with the lights on the top of the cab and also on a clutch slave cylinder. I am hoping there are little or no changes, especially in the C series.

Slave cylinder is the same 1979/89 C600/800, but it depends on the engine size/transmission type.
