Ruby Red F250

Well, It's been a couple of days and 700 kms later. No complaints. It is way different from a F150. Different. For a DD I would recommend a F150. I haven't had a chance to hook up any trailers yet but as soon as I do I will comment. Thing is big, way taller than the F150. Interior is impressive. The fit and finish is excellent. I have to carpet delete and love it. Had mud on the pass side and just went in with a damp cloth, cleaned it right up.

As delivered

With 2" front leveling kit and tires LT325/65R18

I was worried it wouldn't fit in the garage.

And yes, it's muddy

What is involved in leveling the SD and what is the reason? Is it just aesthetics(front and back of truck are the same height) or are there advantages. What is cost to do this typically by a professional and is there a recommended kit or product. BTW, Ruby red was in my top 3 color choices. Looks great.

You can put bigger tires on in the front and most leveling kits are just spacers you put on top of the factory springs.

I'll say that with the added weight and the bigger tires, It made me smile as I went passed both trucks that were stuck in the mud..

One was a Dodge.............. The other was mine, . a converted ambulance. But it has a diesel..

I've always wonder how those electric steps will work if you get a lot of mud on them. Heard you can turn them off where they won't pop out when you open the doors.

Strokin is correct. Mine are just spacers to bring the front up so that I don't have that "rake - wedge" look. Also with the bigger tires it would have rubbed.

The only issue was with a rock that had gotten in between the step and the bracket. Steps wouldn't stay in the up position. Easy fix, just flicked the rock (small) out with my finger and all good. They were caked with mud and no problems deploying the steps.

That's good news. I've never really been a fan of them and this truck I'm getting will be the first to have them.

I don't plan on bigger tires as I will use the truck to tow a camper. Any negative issues with a leveling kit and towing? Any brand better such as Ready Lift which looks like it has more components than just spacers. Do you need to do an alignment after the lift? tks

I'm short. So, I have to have a step. I was like you, hesitant. As of now, I swear by them. They come down farther than the stationary ones and look awesome when up, makes the truck look taller. Time will tell if they are robust enough for all the door openings. Cool nonetheless..

You'll like them, trust me....

Yes, I recommend an alignment after. The only concern would have is, will it still be level with the tongue weight? I have a travel trailer and a car trailer that has load distribution bars, so level is a problem. I am going to try it with out this spring..
