ac temp at idle
Has anyone checked the temp of your ac at idle?
I inserted an ac thermometer in the vent, turned the ac on max,
ran the truck at idle speed for several minutes and it only read
54 degrees. This seems high to me. Is this a low refridgerant issue or a programming issue?

My 03, AC doesn't run cold like my 97 did. have noticed as soon as the compressor shuts off the air starts warming up pretty quick, this even running down the road. It doesn't keep it comfortable in the cab, must keep blower running on faster speed to try to keep it cool. Going to have it checked next time it is in the shop which shouldn't be to long as its been in there 18 1/2 days since May 6th. which was the day I got it.

You guys may want to check out the Cooling, Heating, Ventilation and A/C forum on this site. I've heard of some issues with the A/C may be related to PCM reflashes. The rule of thumb I've heard is that the vent temp should be about 30 degrees less them ambient temp on max A/C setting. Not sure if this applies when at idle or at speed of 30mph or faster.
