Scratches

Looking for Suggestions:

Hi Everyone:
I recently purchased a brand new 2003 Ranger FX4 Levell II
I Previously owned a 1990 Ranger XLT 4x4 with a Bush Bar in the front.
The new one doesn't. To make a long story short, I have Some light Scratches on the sides of my truck now, From Wheeling in the bush without a bushbar. They are not deep, just very light.

I know it's a truck But, It's brand new and I would like to keep it in the best possible shape I Can.

Any Ideas for repairing the scratches?

I do a lot of driving in the bush, besides a bushbar is there a good way to protect the finish??

or is waxing the only way to protect it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

If they're minor, try a product called Scratch-Out. It comes in a BRIGHT yellow bottle, and you can buy it at any auto parts store. Works especially well on clear-coat. Let us know how you make out.

Scratches

I looked for two days in this town, and couldn't find the Scratch-Out.
The guy at the auto parts told me we can't get it in Canada, but he new what you were talking about and he told me to try The Meguiars Scratch X.
Since I have heard many good reviews on Meguiars Products by members of this website, I gave it a try and am very pleased with the results..
Thanks for your help this is a great website, I just wish I would have found it before I Traded my old Ranger in. ( Didn't have to worry about Scratches. )

I have been using Duz-all by Prowax it is by far the best scratch remover I have ever used. For scratches through the paint, I use touch up paint and wet sand with 2000 grit sandpaper, then I hand rub with the Duz-all. It is clearcoat safe and even after a light wet sand the clearcaot is not removed from my 1995 F150.
Sanding sounds agressive, but sometimes that is what it takes. It works great as a polish as well. All I use now is the Duz-all and Meguiars Carnuba wax.
