First of all this is my first post. I've been hanging around a lot recently. I'm a life long fan of dent sides even though I was a kid when they were new. The pic is of my new to me 1973 F-100 4x4. I figured it would be good for a few laughs. Has anyone ever seen this mod? The gear box looks like my '74 F-250 two wheel drive. Now starts the search for a donor truck with the correct parts.
It's actually kind of genius in a redneck sort of way. I have no room to say squat after my latest "feat of engineering" to get my wife's '65 mobile and loaded onto a trailer to bring it home. Suffice it to say a generous wrapping of nylon twine CAN replace a rear wheel bearing for short distances. (Pictures to follow in the upcoming build thread for that truck when I disassemble it this weekend.)

Now starts the search for a donor truck with the correct parts. Good luck, all the parts are obsolete, expensive if found.
1973/75 F100 4WD's were available with Garrison Power Assist P/S that consisted of a P/S control valve and hydraulic cylinder.
The manual steering gearbox was used, because it had nothing to do with the Power Assist.
