Blinker problems....

Ok, I hate the blinkers in my truck. For some reason they decide when to work and when not to. I was sitting in my driveway and miraculously they started working, woooohoooo!!!!. Well just to see if they still worked 5 minutes later they didnt. Infact I dont know whats wrong. At first I thought it was a flasher problem but when I bought 2 new ones and replaced them, they still didnt work. So I go and get new fuses and replace the fuse for the blinkers. Worked for about 5 minutes. Now they dont and then to top that my brake lights decided to take a break (no pun intended).
I think I need a different wiring lum for the steering wheel but I dont want to do that. Any suggestions?

In your old truck it is probably an intermittent ground.

Blinker problems....

I had a simular problem with my 69 f100 brake lights would'nt come on, thought it was the bulb; but the blinkers wer'nt cliking all the way over to there off position, they dint flash but they kept the brake light from coming on. Check to make shur the blinkers are going all the way over to the off and on positions.
Step on the brake while doing this to see if they come on
Hope that helps.

My dad keeps thinking it might be a ghost wire thats grounding out my signal but the only way to fix that would to change out the wiring assembly. I dont know but is he correct?

I dont know bout my brake lights. I think I might need new bulbs but I will find out in due time.

Do you keep blowing fuses or do they just not work? have you tried Fords good ol "wiggle test"? That actually came from Ford. You turn on the circuit and start wiggling the wires, when it activates you're in the right area.Just a thought. Seen more problems with the wiring around the fuse block than anywhere else on most Fords.

This sounds like the classic bad ground/dirty light socket syndrome to me.
