89 f250. My dual tank switch was working fine, until my kid decided to flip it both directions very fast.
Mechanically it still seems to be switching as when i switch tanks it isn't running out of gas. and sometimes the gauge still works and shows tank level. So pretty sure it isn't stuck on one tank.
So what's happening with gauge it will usually read front tank level but it takes awhile. Sometimes 5-20 minutes sometimes more, or not at all.
rarely will it show rear level now. Drove an hour yesterday and rear level only showed one time.
Anyone know now if this sounds like a switch issue or gauge? Maybe the fast switching messed up the gauge?
Also wanted to add, after switching and while waiting for it to sometimes work. Gauge arm goes all the way over to the right like it always did, (well beyond the full mark) but in general just stays there.
Thanks
