Just placed an order!

Howdy everyone! I just got home from my dealership after placing my order!! This is my first diesel. I'm stepping up from a 2015 F150. Any tips and tricks relating to the diesel would be appreciated! I tow horses with some regularity. Realistically, I probably don't NEED a diesel, but I sure do love them.

I ordered a 2017 F350 SRW CC Long Box with the 6.7 Powerstroke
Lariat, FX4, and a few bells and whistles.

I'll post more details if anyone wants! I just wanted to say hello! I have to make some choices regarding a bed cover, tint, and replacing the halogen bulbs with something better. My truck should be ready in 8-10 weeks, according to the dealer. I look forward to being an active member of this forum!

Congrats, I just picked up my CCLB Lariat. I ordered the Bakflip MX4 for my cover. I am installing it after Line-x on Tuesday.

I am also interested in new bulbs as I didn't do the LEDs.

How do you like it so far? I am also getting LineX. I've seen some stuff that proves to me that LineX is superior to Ford's bed liner.

I will put together a list of LED replacement bulbs, since I don't see one around. I would have gotten the LED lights from Ford, but I didn't want a sunroof. I was told by my sales guy that you can't get the LED headlights and tail lights without the Lariat Ultimate package. I don't need/want a sunroof!

I am loving it so far. There is a video that shows the OEM liner being ripped out easily. That convinced me to stick with Line-x.

I purchased the same, F350 4x4 diesel long box Lariat. Dude why not opt for the LED headlamps? Here are my options and add ons ask me anything.

Lariat Ultimate Package
3.55 locking axle
FX4 package
Power running boards
Rapid heat supplemental heater
5th wheel hitch prep package
Quad beam LED headlamps
Roof clearance lights
BLIS blind spot info system
Wheel well liners rear
Splash guards front/rear
Machined cast aluminum 20" wheels and tires
Upfitter switches
Universal garage door opener
Tough bed spray in bedliner
Heated rear seat
Tow technology bundle

Added...

Retrax Pro MX aluminum retractable bed cover
Ford rubber molded floor mats

Comments...

I purchased off the lot so I got some things I would not have ordered. I find BLIS useless for example. I would not have ordered the 20" wheels but I do like them. The heated rear seat is also useless to me. Everything else I like!

I would have added the LED headlights, but apparently, you can only get them from the factory if you get the Lariat Ultimate Package. I don't want a sunroof that will leak in 3 years or less. Glass also breaks in hail. If I could delete the sunroof, I would have done it!

You can opt out of the sunroof if you go with the King Ranch. That's one thing that irked me about the Lariat, I find sun roofs useless and would have preferred not to have one but LED headlamps were a must have for me and I wanted some of the ultimate package features.

That looks like an Awesome build! Here's my total build:

2017 F350 CCLB 6.7 Power Stroke 4x4
Magnetic Metallic
FX4 Package
Lariat Value Package
Splash guards Front/Rear
Tailgate Step (This thing is HIGH)
Rear Wheel Well Liners (Try saying that 3 times fast... It's hard!)
5th Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package
Gooseneck Hitch Kit (Wondering if I should cancel and go aftermarket)
Engine Block Heater
Remote Start
Skid plates (Should be included in FX4, but listed as $100 option?)
Reverse sensing
BLIS
Dual Extra-Heavy Duty alternators (When in Rome...)
LED Clearance Lights
LED Box lighting
Boxlink
6" Angular Extended Chrome Running Boards
3.55 E Locker
Heavy service front suspension (Was required for 3.55 e-locker- any input?)
LT275/70Rx18E BSW Plus A/T Tires (I think this is the Michelin ATII)
Heated Rear Seats (Why not?)
Rapid-Heat Supplemental Cab Heater (Doesn't get very cold here in FL though)
Universal Garage Door Opener
Upfitter Switches
Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (Will make it easier for those who are unable to park well)

I CAN'T WAIT for this thing to be built. My patience is about to be tested!

I have the lights, I believe in a lariat you can get them, not just the ultimate. The lighting changes are proving difficult there is another thread on this topic and I don't see that they totally have this worked out as yet. Try your ordering dealer to see what they can do. I bought a dealer order and I have the ultimate and it turns out all workers really good and I like the subpnroof and the BLIS ect. Never thought I needed it but the other portions were wash at I wanted. Congrats on your truck, it will be awesome. The LED lights are awesome, I doubt you can get anything close in the after market without significant more cost.

What's MSRP on that? Regarding your choice of color, I had that color on my Ram 1500. Honestly when its cloudy or the truck is dirty the color looks black. If I had a do over I just would have gone with black in the first place or picked a lighter color. Just saying.

The MSRP is North of $67,000. I don't have an exact figure because my dealer printed out the paper I have before adding FX4 and the Camera system.

Regarding the color: I have it currently on my 2015 F150. I like it. It doesn't seem to show swirl marks or imperfections as badly as black. I do like a black truck though! This new build is basically my F150 on an F350 chassis.

SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Do you find it difficult at all to drive with such a long wheelbase? My current F150 is a Crew Cab with a short box. It will definitely be a step up for me!

Your build upgraded to LED headlamps would be $73,100 which includes the required Lariat ultimate package and BLIS. So not a small amount. I decided if I'm going to be into this thing $68k which is already ridiculous I may as well go all the way vs trying to save a few grand and not getting something that is super important to me the LED headlamps.

If you really want LED headlights check out this. FDNY just switched and has them working perfectly as of right now. Total cost is around $2k as of right now.
