another power steering leak

my 94 f150 302 E4OD is now leaking PS fluid from the pitman shaft seal on the steering box. Other than the leak, which isn't too bad yet, the box seems fine...no excessive play or anything like that. Can I replace the seal without removing the whole box? Anything I should be paying particular attention to?

Thanks!

I wouldn't try to replace the seal without removing the box. I have read on forums where someone said they replaced the seal without removing the box, but it doesn't seem doable to me.
