hey guys im doing a 5.0 aod swap from a Lincoln town car. im looking for the wiring diagram, i am using the donor harness but everything i read points me to fordfuelinjection.com but that site is shut down. does anyone have the schematic saved on the old computer?
The AOD is controlled through hydraulics via the throttle valve cable. The AODE, and the best of all these transmissions, the 4R70W, are electronically shifted.
The EEC-IV processor has no ties to the AOD transmission. In the 5.0L Fox Mustangs, there's an A9P processor designed for the EFI engine being used with an automatic transmission and an A9L processor designed for the EFI engine to run with a manual transmission.
However, these specific processor versions have no direct bearing on the transmission itself. They have to do with the fuel table calculations of firing the injectors, dependent on whether the transmission is a manual or an automatic.
The engine processors that were used with the AODE/4R70W would have a PCM (Power train Control Module) built into the ECM that would control the shifting of the transmission.
I don't know if your messing with me or not. But I have all the information I need on the AOD. I'm looking for the wiring diagram of the 5.0 fuel injection the eec wiring so I can go ahead and get the motor wired up. Thanks
The intension isn't to "mess" with anyone. I'm just trying to get the point across that the processor for an AOD really has no direct bearing on the transmission itself. If it was an AODE or a 4R70W, then that would be different.
There was no mention of what year Lincoln the donor parts came from or what alpha-numeric code the EEC-IV processor is. Do an internet search for the year model and the processor code for the wiring schematics.
You can go here http://www.bbbind.com/ and sign up for a free access account to their tech library. They have a buttload of wiring diagrams and TSB's for all makes and models in their libraries.
The donor parts came from a 1989 Lincoln town car it's a 5.0 with an aod transmission no electronics. I did do a search but it seems like all the information or diagarams have been removed from most sites.
This information MAY help. I've never fooled with EFI from anything other than an '89-'93 5.0L Fox Mustang. After you go to this link, you can download the 26-page Ford Motorsport EFI manual.
