Seating help. Please

So i have a regular cab 86 f 250, my seats are original and in great condition it is a standard bench seat. I want to put in updated seating something cushy with a center console that folds up into another seat , does anyone have any suggestions as to what fits or bolts in nicely. I can cut and weld but i dont want to have to go to that extreme.

I have a page on my web site that partially addresses this: Seat Interchangeability - ???Gary's Garagemahal. Most of that page discusses installing bucket seats, but it does mention the 40/20/40 seats and they may be what you are looking for. So if you found a set of them and the "pan", as discussed on that page, it should all bolt in.

Yeah, it sounds like the OP is looking for that mid-90s, 40/20/40 stuff.

If you do go that way, would you, please, both report back and include some pics? I think it would be good to update my web page with that approach as well instead of just the bucket seat one. And, if I could use your pics......

No buckets for me at all i am interested in the 40/20/40 seats. I have a 91 mercury grand marguis and seats like that would be terrific, i was just wondering if anyone did stuff like that. Or what may fit with ease that is the key word here fellas .

Hell yea come for a ride . Why not have newer comfy seats when you go over speed bumps at 5 mph any faster and the truck bounces up amd I have new shocks. She is a great truck and maybe I just baby her over the speed bumps. I drove a brand new sterling trash truck hit bumps and popped out of the seat. So this is not new to me

Short answer, nothing is going to bolt in if the driver's side and the pass side seats move independent of one another. If you can find a cushy bench seat, then that might bolt in if it's from a 96-dwn pickup. 98-dwn f250/350 might work also.

P.S. The higher trim lariat's usually have a little more padding in the seat. I will warn you, the 4x4 trucks are usually wore out on the outside corner, a 2wd truck may have a better seat.

So I am guessing measure cut and weld something from a Cushy car and make that sucker fit in is my only option or keep this seat and just be happy dammit. Thanks, if i do anything I will give you the report.

It's possible to rebuild the seat you have, with new foam, springs, and cover. Just one more option.

I am confused. I think the 40/20/40 seats from a mid 90's F-series truck will bolt in if you get the base. So, why do you think you'll have to cut and weld?

She might be listening to me. I forgot about the bracket adapter thing you had pictured in your link. You might want to narrow that down for her exactly what she needs to look for and what years.

All I know is what I put on that page: "Starting in '94 Ford used a "pan" to mount the 40/20/40 seats in the trucks. The "pan" mounts to the bench seat holes and accepts the 40/20/40 split bench seat. That pan is a direct bolt-in to the regular or crew cab trucks...."

I'll check with Bill/ND to see if we can get more specific. But, at least she could look for a '94 F-series w/that seat.
