Can someone please explain to me how I install the shift indicator in my 66? Someone took it out of my truck before I got it so I ordered this. Is it correct?
Thank you
That socket and pointer are a little bit newer style, but no worries as they are made to work together.
The yellow arrow shows where the pointer will stick up out of the socket and the two blue arrows point to roughly where two small screws go to secure the indicator.
1965/72: The original A/T shift collar had the pointer made as part of it.
1973: Ford replaced the original A/T shift collar with the 1973(1973/77) D5TZ-7228-A .. A/T Shift Collar Kit that included a plastic pointer (D3TZ-7A110-A).

Hey Chad notice the steering column shaft end looks a lot like the '67 and up style as per JK68 from Germany.
PhilZX6 welcome to FTE and what year is your steering column?
Thank you and the truck is a 66 but i'm not sure what the past owner could have done. They also butchered the side of the column for some reason so i'm either looking to buy just that piece i posted earlier and fix my column or buy an entire column
See pic below of 1965/72 F100/250 2WD & 1967/72 F350 steering column parts.
On the far right above where it says AUTOMATIC TRANS you will see 7B097
This is D0TZ-7B097-B (replaced C5TZ-7B097-A & D0TZ-7B097-A) .. NSS Selector Lever (1965/77 F100/350) / Obsolete ~ 1,500+ available NOS
This lever attaches to the shift tube thru the hole in the mast jacket (steering column shroud), its knife blade end inserts into the NSS (7A247 in pic).
Without this lever, the truck can be started in any gear. Not pleasant!

The original 1965/66 F100/250 MX/C4 Cruise-O-Matic green dot indicator dial (C5TZ-7B033-A) is obsolete, no one repro's it, none are available NOS
The OP has C4OZ-7B033-A sold by C & G Ford Parts (Escondido CA). It's for a 1964/65 Fairlane & 1965 Falcon with C4 Cruise-O-Matic.
Will it work? I hope so.
In order to install the dial and the pointer, the steering wheel and the upper flange must be removed.
I bought one hoping it would work, but the letter spacing is different. The letter spacing on the part mentioned above is narrower than the original F100 indicator. Rats! If someone finds one that works, please let me know.
