Would anyone be so kind as to tell me what the real difference between a 250 and a 350 is? (Other than price, of course!) As I understand it, it was that the 350 has a beefed up suspension. Am I really off base?
The 350 has a 2 inch taller block in the back. I think it may also have 1 more overload but am unsure if this has more to do with the camper package than anything else. Everything else is the same. Same axles, front springs, rear springs, tranny, t-case.
I apologize. I've managed to post this in the wrong place and, unfortunately, because I am a new person, I cannot seem to get a message thru to the moderator to ask them to move this to the correct area. I am truly sorry.

Yes you can. Go to Ford's website and they will let you build an F250 CC long bed with PSD. You can't get the plow package with that configuration though.
I'm guessing the reason you don't see too many F250 CC longbed trucks, especially with the diesel, is because that configuration uses up quite a bit of the GVWR. The payload becomes close to that of a 1/2 ton truck.
The only major difference is 9900#GVWR you get with an F-350 vice the 8800# You get with the F-250. If I had to do it again I would buy the F-350. Oh well hindsight is 20/20

Thanks for all of the replies. WOW, Manny, nice truck!
Since the GVWR is very important to me for towing and a possible camper in the future, I now have an answer for the husband (and everyone else who wants to know why a Gu-rrrl needs such a big truck ).
Wish me luck! The plan is to put in the order on Monday! Now, if I could just decide on that color issue . . . . .
I know the 350 has bigger tow eyes in front. When I went from my 350 to the 250 I could not hook the straps that I had. The taller rear I think comes from larger springs. Pretty much from what I saw the heavy springs and tow hooks were the only difference.
