tranny questions
Greetings all!
I am going to have to replace my tranny in my 1970 F100. It has a 351 Windsor in it now with the FMX tranny. i haven't been able to find out too much about this tranny except that it was the stock tranny in this truck. It's a short bed Custom Special. Not sure if the FMX was part of a towing package. i don't think so because the original engine for this truck was the 360. My first question is a)would it be better to rebuild that tranny or b) drop a C6 into this. I am not going to be doing alot of towing or racing, so High performance is not an issue. Basically I want it to be a weekend fun/hauler with freeway driving likely. The rear-end has 3.50 gears in it. With the C6, will there be any power or torque issues with this power plant configuration? Unfortunately money is a slight issue so which ever solution would offer me the best cost/performance ratio is what i am looking for.
