So one of the first things I read when I opened the owner's manual was that you shouldn't plow with these things. Why not? I currently plow with a rusted out, barely running, one brake, shot shocks, leaky fuel tank, totally not road-worthy 88 Bronco II. It's super maneuverable being so small, but was thinking it might be nice to use the Expy instead.
No frame?? My buddy's been plowing with a 97 F150 for years. Aren't these the same thing underneath? Most people doing non-commercial plowing (personal stuff) plow with 1/2 tons.
No, I'd stick with the Bronco II for plowing duty. The front of the Gen2 and newer Expy's is mostly styrofoam and plastic. If you have a 4x4 model the only thing to mount to is the tow hook area, and that's for pulling, not pushing.
No frame? Not sure what frame you're referring to, but surely mine has a frame? Even has to big tow hooks coming out of the front, so I'd be surprised if you can't mount a plow directly to the frame where those towing hooks are placed. Perhaps nothing is commercially available, but a welder should be able to make something fit... I'd suspect it works just as well as an F150.
