I have a 94 F-150 ext cab with a 5.0 and 5 speed. Im thinking about converting from 2wd to 4x4. I want to put a 3 in body and 5 suspension. Anyone care to comment on what i should do? open to any suggestions.
conversion of my 2wd to 4x4 is going to be done by Arlington 4 wheel drive. Im buying the axels from them and trasfer case and they will install it. Then im going to ##### Cecpeck place in Denton and having the tires, rims, and lift put on. So there for im only spending between 3-4,000. At least thats what i think. Anyone care to comment
Not crazy if you like your truck that much. I did this to my 94, 2x4 to 4x4, 4" suspension, 3" body, changed I6 to 302, 3/4 ton rears and would do it again.
I came across the parts pretty cheap, did the work all myself and not including the engine swap and rears, only had about $2000 total. $500 was just to change the 2x tranny to accept the xfer case. much cheaper than a junk yard tranny that was in a wreck and who knows how long it will last.
the cost difference of what you'd have between selling yours, buying a new 4x4, not knowing what you're buying.....
pretty much equals out in dollars.
