squeak in front left hub

I have a 94 4x4 f150 with auto hubs. when I have it in 4x4 I get a whinning squeaking noise in the drivers side hub this noise will persist until I come out of 4x4 and do the back up thing, any help.and is it something that I can fix myself thanks steve from B.C. CANADA

Have the hubs ever been serviced ? A 30K mile , 50K Km service would be a good idea for the hubs esp living in a humid climate like Bc .

Paul is correct; keep them clean and lubed, but not too much lube.
BTW, our 96 bronco blew both auto hubs @ 30k miles
