i just recently bought a 2003 ford f-150 with a 4.6 V8. it is a short bed single cab and will get up and go but i pull a trailer and i want more torque for that and also more umph when i want it. i was just wondering what i should do to get the maximum horsepower for the same amount of money. I am looking at superchips made by JET and also looking at an AIR FORCE ONE intake system. I cant decide and would like some feedback on which one would give me the most and if there is any problems in the future on adding both of them when i get the money?
Hopefully someone will give you some opinions here soon.
If you scroll a ways further down on the main forum page you will find the computer tuning forum. The guys there will be able to answer any chip questions that you have.
The bad answer is either one will help you. Personally I would go with the chip first.
The air intake will help, but I wouldn't do it without adjusting the exhaust at the same time.
More cool air in and more heat and air out. I've noticed that the more open intake makes more noise up front when you are at wide open throttle.
Years ago we used to turn our air cleaner covers upside down on our patrol cars. We thought we were getting more power. Maybe we were, maybe we weren't. But, when we tromped on the accelerator, the sound was impressive!
