I'm a 27 old year old, small and bearded guy from Niedersachsen in Germany.
Bought me a while ago a Ford F250, factory highboy with a 360cui engine, 4-speed-manual transmission and 4wheel drive.
It's my first own V8 vehicle.
The origin of the truck is near Los Angeles, CA and i bought it as a little project together with a slide-in camper and get it shipped to germany.
The camper gets damaged while transportation, because some guys thought it could be smart to put straps over the top of the camper and at some other bad positions - the outer aluminium-plates dont fit together anymore and while beeing stored at the habour rain was coming inside the isolation...
So now it's damaged and rotten and a case for the transport-insurance... but thats another topic
The reason for the truck is my trust in old mechanics, the good off-road performance and sparepart-availability of american trucks.
Also the design is great, it fits to my way of life and will be a good allrounder with the possibility to carry a slide-in camper!
My "daily driver" (i don't use it very often, because i got no long distance to get myself to work ) is a Volvo 960 from 1995 with a 6 cylinders in row-3Liter(around 180cui)-engine.
The truckproject runs in small steps and with the help of my father i already get a new Holley carburetor installed.
Heating of the cabin, fighting loss of oil and a new steering wheel are also parts of the done work.
But interieur, some sheet-metal-work, reactivation of the second gas-tank and cosmetic things will need to be fixed in the future.
After this the paperWAR will start to get it legaly on the german streets!
So thats it for the moment - thanks for a good forum like this and excuse my faults in english-language I'm trying my best to get it better!
At the end i hope i'm able to attach a picture of my truck...
