Engine oil in intercooler

Hello everyone. I just bought an 08 F350 with 69,000 miles. Seems to be well cared for. It was in a minor accident so got a killer deal (I hope) Anyway I removed the intercooler to facilitate the body repairs and noticed a small amount of engine oil in the lower boot. Is this normal or an indication of other issues. Thanks for you insight. This is my first Power Stroke.

Congrats!

I'm not sure I understand exactly where you are talking about, but there is sometimes blow/oil leaks near the turbo boots.

The tube at the lower left corner of the intercooler. Not much oil, a thin coating amounting to a few drops. The upper one on the right is clean.

oil in intercooler is normal. it gets there from the case vent located at the base of the oil fill can. the turbo sucks in blow by gases and often includes oil spray.
