I believe it is time to start a National campaign to Ban Warning Labels.

Warning Labels are dumbing down America.

If someone doesn't realize not to take an electrical device into a bath and or shower they deserve to have their gene pool terminated.
How many time have you gotten a cup of hot liquid in a styrafoam container and thought, I should be careful with this? If you didn't, You should rethink any plans for increasing the worlds population.

Think about Seatbelts, there are laws requireing their use, there are warning labels, lights and buzzers in vehicles reminding you to use them. Does it work. No. We hear about people killed or injured all the time in traffic accidents that wern't wearing their seatbelts.

Warning labels are a waste of time, effort and ultimatly space on our ever shrinking planet.

Animals don't read Warning Labels.

It would be nice but will probaby never happen because if there isn't a waring label sombody will probably do it and sue. I see people at work look at a machine know how it operates and curioity get the best of them next thing I know their screming at me to get help their finger is all smashed up, nail in, staple or cut off. I find it funny that none of these rookies has any commen sense not to do some of the things they do. In the same way people are lazy or just don't want to do things that would be better for their saftey. hopefully more these people will get cut out of the gene pool.

Just yesterday I was working on a combination air dehydrator / compressor and spotted a lable on the back that read: WARNING - DO NOT USE FOR BREATHING AIR. I thought well, duh! Who would disconnect a air dehydrator and breath with it?

best one I've seen was on a set of replacement (fancy) gas and brake pedals at Auto Zone... the label actually said (and I'm still laughing at this one) "Do NOT attempt to remove or install while driving."

Do we really need a label like that?

any of you hear about the guy who won the lawsuit against the motorhome company?

the owners manual didnt say anything about DO NOT LEAVE THE WHEEL WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON- so the guy set the cruise control, went in the back to make a sandwich, motorhome crashes, he wins a lawsuit.

the reason we need these warning labels??? because moron judges have been allowing moron complaintants to sue.

good point... I still get a kick out of the warning labels on styrophoam coffee cups (I think someone already mentioned it, but I still don't get it.) Warning. This beverage is hot. Really? IT'S COFFEE!!!!! It's supposed to be hot... it's not my fault or the fault of the company that brewed the coffee that you poured it all over your lap. Society is just too "sue-happy" and it's all about the quick dollar... use common sense.

I wish we would get rid of lawsuits for stupidity. Then we could get rid of warning lables and then Darwinian evolution could get rid of the stupid ones who shouldn't breed.

One of my favorite two warning lables are on my lawn mower. They are picture lables. One shows a guy sticking his hand in the mower blades and chunks of fingers blowing out the chute and notches in his hand. The other shows a rock flying out of the chute and putting a notch in the guy's head. Gross but pretty funny/sad especially considering we actually need these kinds of lables.

We really do need such lables because of stupidity or the "oops forgot about that" factor. Unfortunately I know of one young man who stuck his hand in a running snow blower to get the blade unstuck, duh. Not pretty and he had severe damage. Got to keep his hand and fingers but probably some damage for the rest of his life. So yeah we do need the lables, in bright blinking neon with horns.

I just installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge and the instructions said that the installation requires a professionally trained mechanic. Surely they are just covering their behind in event some jerk burns up his engine by improper installation and then tries to sue.

So if we ban idiots and jerks that are out for a free ride on someon elses wallet, we would not have to ban lawyers or warning labels ad both would quietly go away for lack of purpose.

I remember buying a fan belt once that had a label that read "Turn off engine before installation"

How about the shampoo instructions "wet hair, lather, rinse ,repeat as needed" WOW!!!who would have thought to wet hair first. hehehehehehe

A thought : Someone has tryed to do these stupid things before or else they wouldnt have to warn you not to do them.

Hey guys! I know we taught the Aisian population alot. They are ahead of us in certain ways, but not this!
A small company puts a compact iron on the market, for sales people, travelers, etc. Forgets to mention... DO NOT USE WHILE WEARING THE GARMENT! They are out of business now, but what fool irons his clothing while it's on his/her body!!!
Lots of good stuff though. Keep it coming!
Talk with you guys later....

I'm all for wearing seat belts, but I'm against seat-belt-use laws. I'm against helmet laws. I've said for years we should do this: if you're in an accident and you didn't have your helmet or seat belt on, fine. That's your right. You also had the responsibility to lessen your injuries. Assuming you survived the crash, your HMO or insurance provider says "Sorry, Charlie." You no wear seat belt, you no have insurance coverage. Pay the hospital out of your own pocket. You're gonna lose your house? Gee, that's too bad- you should have thought about that before you drove off without the belt or helmet on.
